Nicole Lassahn
Nicole Lassahn earned her Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Chicago. She studied political poetry in England and France from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, and is interested in the history of parliament and the development of our modern notions of public and private. Her latest essay, "Langland’s Rats Revisted: Conservatism, Commune, and Political Unanimity," was published in the interdisciplinary journal Traditio.
Dr. Lassahn also has extensive exerience as a writing teacher and an academic administrator, working for three years as Assistant Director of the Academic and Professional Writing Program at the University of Chicago, and four years as Assistant Dean of the Graduate School at Loyola University Chicago. She is deeply interested in the issues affecting higher education today, especially educational assessment, ties between student services and academic performance, and issues of diveristy, equity, and access.
Dr. Lassahn is also a heavy user of contemporary fiction, and a fan of popular science and psychology books.
